We wish Steve Harley a speedy recovery and are looking forward to seeing him this April. Read more.
Steve will appear with James Lascelles (piano and percussion) and Barry Wickens (violin and guitar). Special Guest Appearance of All For One Choir from Hull.
Join us for a very special evening including an exclusive question and answer session with the man himself all as part of your ticket! Steve has kindly agreed to this which will follow on from three sold out shows in London in October 2017 and again in Lytham St Anne’s in February 2018.
Steve Harley, the original Cockney Rebel tours frequently with his Acoustic Trio, playing an intimate unique and atmospheric show. The performance promises subtle lyricism, mingled with great improvisation and rocky rhythms.
Steve will be accompanied by his Cockney Rebel band mates of long standing and the set will be built around tracks from any or all of Steve’s 13 original albums; expect to hear Mr. Soft, Judy Teen, Mr. Raffles, Sebastian and of course the fantastic world wide classic hit Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me) – all blending in with more recent tracks from critically acclaimed albums The Quality of Mercy and Stranger Comes To Town.
"Playing the songs in an acoustic format gives me time and space to enjoy every second and we improvise, which is always a big excitement for any musician. We can loosen off the arrangements and really explore. It gets pretty exciting during the acoustic sets” says Steve.
Steve Harley – Acoustic Trio perform a set which is an unmissable chance for fans to connect with the man Sir Rod Stewart has described as “One of the finest lyricists Britain has ever produced” Praise indeed and you can catch one of Steve’s songs on Rod’s last album (Another Country) ‘A Friend For Life, beautifully interpreted.
MOJO said simply “Harley creates rock songs that are proud, lyrical and full of yearning” Steve has also been described as “A consummate performer at the top of his game” and his show will bear that out. We are privileged that Steve is appearing in Hull where he has a great bond, being friends with the late, great Mick Ronson. He started the Mick Ronson Foundation in 2016 and the first bursaries are being given out to four young students in October 2017.
